Back in London - LFW Day 1 : Corrie Nielsen "The Forbidden Liasons" show

At 5 my plane from Hong Kong arrived in London, at 8 I got home and by 12:30 I was already running my way through the tube in heels to get to the Connie Nielsen show at the Mayfair hotel.

Today was truly a bit of a disastrous day. I topped up and purchased my travel card on the wrong oyster card, I purchased the wrong travel card, for some reason my laptop's time was one hour behind and so I only had 50 minutes to get ready and get to the show, it was raining, there was traffic. My god i'm surprised I still have a full head of hair and haven't slit my wrists yet!

Luckily I got there on time. Here are some photos!

According to the brochure Corrie Nielsen got her inspiration from the emotions of 1950s "ensnared women" from the movies "House of Flying Daggers"and "In the Mood for  Love". Having recently watched "In the Mood for Love" (an amazing movie with the most beautiful cheongsams I have ever seen!) I was very excited to see what was about to come!

What I really like about Corrie's work is the structure and the texture she manages to create from the silk.

I certainly found it a very interesting take on Chinese clothing (like the use of the cheongsam collars and the splits in the skirts) as when I first read the introduction I thought that it would be more of a straight up, in your face Chinese theme, like Jason Wu A/W 2012-13. But this was more out of the box and more interesting.

It was definitely so exciting to see a proper fashion show for the first time at my first fashion week ever.

Was definitely an enlightening experience and very inspirational. I was supposed to also see the Ones to Watch show, but the Corrie Nielsen show started late and so we got to the next show late and by the time we got to the door they already reached full capacity. What a shame.

Fuck fashion, eat cake.

We just went to Patisserie Valerie to eat cake instead.  Stay tuned for more to come tomorrow!
